My Kids

I was attempting a Baby Girl photo shoot, and in typical fashion, Big Brother had to be in on the action... Notice a train clutched in each hand, and Lightning McQueen shirt proudly displayed. Mr. Personality at his best!

Playing with Scissors

Yesterday, I chopped about 8 inches of hair off of my head. That's what traditionally happens when Beth doesn't get enough "me" time. She goes and does crazy things with scissors. The last time my hair got short was just after my Firstborn entered the world. Guess I can't handle all the curls on a baby schedule. :)

I also am going to attempt my very first scherenschnitte (again with the scissors!). This is something I have always wanted to learn, and since the only person I know who practices this art lives on the other side of the country, I checked out some library books, and am going to teach myself. Not that its any different from any other hobby I have ever taken up. I am a self-taught stitcher, crocheter, rug hooker, guitar player, cooker, photographer and hair cutter... I wonder what will be next...

According to Wikipedia, "Inevitable derives from the Latin word vitare (to avoid) and the prefix in (meaning not or without). It refers to something that cannot be avoided."

I suppose I should be surprised that this event had not yet occurred in my Firstborn's life. He constantly has chapped lips, so I often put my Burt's Bees lip balm on him to try to help with this condition.

This morning, I came downstairs from changing Baby's diaper, and found this:

He was 2 years, 59 days, 19 hours, and 46 minutes old when he tried lipstick on for the very first time.

One Month Already???

I am having a very difficult time wrapping my mind around the fact that my Baby is already over 1 month old! Maybe its because we live with a tornado of a toddler, but that first month seemed to go by SO much faster this time around.

We are all doing well, and I am slowly adjusting to life as the Mama of 2 with all of its joys and limitations. I know that one day I will once again have "me" time, but for now, I'll let my books go unread and my eyebrows grow unruly, because its time for another round of meals, diapers, kisses, and laundry!
