New Pattern Release... Rachael Holmes 1842

As usual, when designing this piece, I was inspired by an old sampler. This particular old sampler was from the latter half of the 1800’s, and was almost entirely stitched in bands and sections of patterns and vines.

I wanted to stitch a sampler that wasn’t so heavy on lettering and quotes, instead focusing on repeated patterned bands. The type of bands that could be used to decorate linens and frocks, and to otherwise make regular household items more appealing.

I imagined it being stitched by a young woman who was perhaps preparing for her wedding day, and wanting to make her own reference piece for future marking of her precious household linens.

I stitched the model on 32 count even-weave linen which I had previously over-dyed. I used Weeks Dye Works threads, and the frame is by Valley House Primitives. The stitch count is 200 by 161.

The pattern comes with a fully detailed & professional thread chart, a color photograph, and a conversion list for WDW to DMC. It will come enclosed in a plastic zip-close envelope for safe keeping.

Total price, including shipping is $12. You may purchase the chart through my etsy shop, or by contacting me directly: beth@heartstringsamplery.com
