Christmas Tree Day!

Yesterday was the day... we headed straight from church to Wild Hare Tree Farm, our favorite local spot. After only about 20 minutes of wandering,

We found THE tree... medium tall, and on the skinny side, to avoid too much crowding in our small living room. Full, but not sheared so drastically that it looks like an unfortunate gumdrop tree.

For us... Just Right.

Fortified with Peppermint Cocoa, and finding it quite silly that there was a tree on top of our car, we headed home, watching our shadow on the ground the whole way.

Then, during the quiet of nap time, I got busy lighting the tree with some favorite holiday tunes in the background(this year I seem to have three... Dave Barnes, Ella Fitzgerald, and of course, Harry Connick Jr.).

We use a Victorian-style heavy painted iron tree stand that I bought at Costco way back in my single girl days.

Every year, we set the tree stand on top of a couple of favorite burlap coffee bags.

Waking from nap time to a lighted tree in the house is pretty exciting.

And apparently, coaching a couple of babies through putting decorations on the tree is pretty consuming, because this year I didn't take a single picture between the above, and this... taken this morning...

I admit it, I have a christmas music addiction. I have Ella and I have Harry, but had never heard of Dave Barnes. So on your recommendation, I bought the CD from iTunes. I love it!!!! His original songs are so perfect for the season. It's definitely my favorite Christmas CD this year. I have 19.5 hours of Christmas music on my ipod, but this is the one that I am listening to over and over and over...
Thank you so much for sharing!
Blessings, Patti
