Tiny

This is SO NOT the exciting news I was hoping to share with you today. And the productivity certainly wasn't on my part. But that is the way life goes... your prayers are coveted for my baby sister, her husband, and their brand new baby this morning.

Clara Clementine was delivered by emergency C-section at 1:30am, being only 32 1/2 weeks into her gestation, and weighing just 2lb. 15oz.

I haven't had a chance to talk to anyone yet to find out what her prognosis is for being ready to leave the hospital, but it appears (from the photo, which I stole from my brother-in-law) that she is breathing on her own, which seems like a small miracle to me.

My sister had HELLPS, a nasty combination of super high blood pressure and dangerously low platelets. I had the same syndrome with my firstborn, but in my case it didn't present until I was at 37 weeks, and I was able to delivery naturally. My sister has a long road of recovery ahead of her, and so does her perfectly-perfect little doll-baby.

Beth, I just prayed for little Clara and your sister and will continue for healing for your sister and healthy growth for little Clara. It is amazing Clara is breathing so well on her own. Asking God to provide all her needs, nourishment and good health. Our daughter, Liz, is now 31 weeks along. Praying. ((hugs))

She's so precious, Beth. I know that our daddy God has her tiny form in the palm of His hand and can strengthen and grow her strong! I also know that friends all over the world are praying for little Clara to thrive and for peace to reign in the hearts of all of us who have already been touched by her young life and care so much. Will be praying and eager for an update.

I will be keeping all of them in my prayers. Clara is beautiful and breathing on her own is awesome. It is amazing how little they are but I know from my experience the nurses are absolutely wonderful.

I experienced HELPP Syndrome as well and my little guy was born at 30 weeks weighing 2 lbs 8 ounces. He was in the NICU for about 6 weeks. I was told he could come home once he was breathing with no assistance, able to eat on his own and could sit in his car seat for one hour with no issues. She is already breathing which is absolutely wonderful!!!

Mom and baby will be home before you know it. In the meantime plenty of prayers are heading everyone's way.
