Senate Bill 776 (SB 776) directs the Department of Human Services to collect data and study "alternative-to-abortion" organizations in Oregon and report findings to Legislative Assembly by December 31, 2008.
If it becomes law every pregnancy center in Oregon will be officially investigated by the state.
In addition, this bill establishes a toll-free number to investigate alleged complaints against pregnancy centers. This makes it possible for hundreds of complaints against pregnancy resource centers to be phoned in by supporters of Planned Parenthood and NARAL.
Planned Parenthood and the National Rights Action League have long vowed to close down pregnancy resource centers and this legislation is part of their agenda.
Planned Parenthood is the nation's number one abortion provider and annually receives millions of your tax dollars for its "family planning" services.
SB776, if passed, will put official state sanction on the political agenda of Planned Parenthood and NARAL.

Good for you Beth. I find it ironic that "Pro-Choice" advocates oppose a woman's choice to choose to birth her baby. If they truly believed in a woman's right to choose, then they would not oppose those places that support a woman's right to choose to carry her baby to term and to give birth. To me it shows that political pressure of the last 30+ years is more about power for their position than it is a belief that their actions are preserving choice. In essence it gives the impression they don't really care about "woman's rights"; only their position.
Well said, Dena. It is mind-boggling to me that these so called forward-thinking people are blinded to scientific facts in this time of huge medical advancements. Again, they are so caught up in their political agenda, that they don't realize that they are their own worst enemies by the fact that they are condoning the murder of thousands of female humans every year.
