On Days Like This

The forest beckons me.

There is something quite wonderful
about the stark days of winter,
when the weather is mild,
and the woods are at rest.

I want to go on a Long Explore (Piglet and Pooh-style),
not returning home until the shadows are long,
and Supper is already laid out on the table.
