Puppy on a Scale

Someone yesterday asked to see a picture of a puppy on my postal scale, so here you go... all 1.06 pounds.

It appears that we have either 5 male and 4 female or 4 male and 5 female, since I got different counts each night at weigh in. Either due to my poor ability to spot genitalia, or to the squirmy nature of newborn pups who somehow manage to un-sort themselves quite quickly.

And I should add a little side-note here warning you that yet another litter is imminent. Sierra, our food hound, refused her lunch yesterday. She is due to whelp today. Which means... more puppies! And this litter should be a mix of colors, which is always fun.
