A Free Chart for the New Year

As I have been busily overhauling my closets this week, I have found myself thinking of the upcoming year and all that it may hold. I am not one for making resolutions, but I do find that a fresh new year always inspires me to reflect and re-focus.

My heart has been both heavy and light, as I think about the ones I love and the trials and joys that they are experiencing right now. They are spread both far and near to me, family and friends that hold a special place in my heart. I love to reflect on the happy times that we have spent together.

Truly, the classic New Year song is fitting this year more than any other year for me. Have you ever read the words or discovered the roots of the song? Do it!

And so, I give to you, as my gift for the New Year, an "Auld Lang Syne" sampler:

I utilized some lovely new colors in my chart, but please interpret it however you wish. The row of initials at the bottom are representative of some of my friends... replace them with your own meaningful initials. And when you are finished, will you please share a photo with me? Feel free to stitch it for yourself or to give to another, or even a limited number may be stitched for sale, but as always, please respect my gift and give credit to me as the designer.

Wishing you a year that includes meaningful time spent with those you love, both near and far.

Oh Beth! Thank you so much for this wonderful New Year freebie! I want to stitch it right away... I love the colors that you used, but don't have any of them on hand... I wonder how it might look in icy shades of cream, blue and grey...
Thank you for the link about the song... makes it even more meaningful.
Happy New Year to you and your family!
Blessings, Patti

Thank you! I love the song and a special New Year's design! Of course I also love Dan Fogelberg's Another Auld Lang Syne too. That reminds me of my best friend and how we used to discuss running into our old boyfriends one day in the grocery store. We both keep waiting on that to happen. Since I moved away it's highly unlikely that it'll happen to me but her old beaus must have moved away too. LOL.

Happy New Year Beth to you and your family and thank you for all your wonderful designs. I stitched Racheal Holmes in 2011, I do believe she was my very first finish of the year. Planning on starting With One Accord some time in the new year.

Thank you so much for yet another beautiful freebie, Beth. And thank you for steering us to the lyrics of Auld Lang Syne. I never looked in to the lyrics before. How interesting and though provoking.

A very Happy New Year to you and your loved ones.

Thank's Beth for the lovely freebie. Love the colours you have used. Having now been educated to the history of the song, should we presume those initials you have used are those belonging to past boy-friends?? :)
